Toothed clamps that hold hair upright at the root — for lift, volume and height through the perm process.

A working set of root perm clips in three sizes. Each clip closes onto a section at the base with a row of ribbed, comb-like teeth that grip close to the scalp and hold the hair standing rather than lying flat. That's the whole job: keeping the root elevated while the perm develops, so the finished result has genuine height and body from the base instead of movement that only starts halfway down. The domed top plate carries a dense pin texture for a positive thumb grip, and the internal spring gives a firm close that holds through the service.

Three sizes cover different section weights and different areas of the head — small for fine sections, fringe and detail work, large for heavier crown sections.

All three sizes share the same design, tooth pattern and spring action. Only the scale changes.

How to Use

1. Section the hair according to your perm plan and prepare as directed by your perm system's instructions.
2. Lift the section so the root stands away from the scalp in the direction you want the height to sit.
3. Press the textured top plate to open the clip.
4. Close the teeth onto the section at the base, keeping the jaw close to the scalp without pressing into it.
5. Release. The clip holds the root upright while you work through the rest of the head.
6. Choose your size to match the section — smaller clips for fine sections and detail areas, larger for heavier sections.
7. To remove, press the top plate and lift the clip straight out rather than dragging it through the hair.

Cautions

• For professional and adult use. Keep away from children.
• Not rated for heat. Do not use with heated rods, under hood dryers or near irons unless the manufacturer confirms a heat rating.
• Position the teeth against the scalp — do not press or push them into the skin.
• Do not force the clip open beyond its natural range. Over-flexing cracks the plastic and weakens the spring.
• Follow the instructions supplied with your perm system at all times. This clip is a tool and does not replace any part of that process.
• Rinse and dry thoroughly after contact with perm lotion, neutraliser or any other salon chemistry. Do not leave the clips soaking.
• Inspect before each use. Retire any clip with cracked plastic, broken or missing teeth, or a weakened spring.

Storage

Rinse and dry fully before storing, paying attention to the hinge where moisture and product collect. Keep in a pot, tray or drawer away from direct heat and direct sunlight. Store closed so the spring keeps its tension.
