Description

Twin-prong metal clips that lie flat to the head — for holding sections, moulded hair and set waves exactly where you put them.

Metal control clips built on the double prong pattern barbers have used for decades. A spring-loaded jaw at the head grips the hair while two long parallel prongs slide in flat against the scalp, distributing the hold along the full length of the clip instead of pinching at a single point. Beaded ribbing runs down the inner face of both prongs, and the head plate carries a diamond-knurled thumb pad for a positive grip when you open it one-handed. Slim, low-profile and rounded at the tips, they sit close enough to the head to work under a cap or through a cut without getting in the way.

Key Features

  • Double prong design — twin parallel prongs lie flat to the head and spread the hold across the full length
  • Spring-loaded jaw with a serrated gripping edge at the head
  • Diamond-knurled thumb pad on the head plate for a secure grip when opening
  • Beaded ribbing along the inner face of both prongs — raised points that hold the hair instead of letting it slide
  • Arched cut-out through the head plate, which lightens the clip in the hand
  • Rounded looped prong tips for comfortable entry against the scalp
  • Metal pivot rivet for a firm, repeatable spring action
  • Single size across both finishes

How to Use

  1. Comb or mould the section flat in the direction you want it to sit.
  2. Press the knurled thumb pad to open the jaw.
  3. Slide the twin prongs into the hair flat against the head, following the direction of the section.
  4. Release the pad. The jaw closes and the ribbed prongs hold the section along their full length.
  5. To remove, press the pad again and lift the clip straight out rather than dragging it through the hair.

Cautions

  • For professional and adult use. Not a toy — keep away from children.
  • Metal conducts heat. These clips will get hot under a hood dryer or near irons, tongs and blow-dryers. Take care when handling after any heat exposure, and keep them away from direct heat sources.
  • Check your colour or lightener instructions before use during a chemical service. Some lightening and colour products specifically instruct against metal clips, pins or tools during processing. Follow the manufacturer's directions for the product you are using.
  • The prong tips are rounded but the clip is metal — position it against the scalp rather than pushing it in.
  • Rinse and dry thoroughly after any contact with colour, bleach or perm chemistry, and never leave them soaking in salon chemicals.
  • Do not force the prongs apart or bend them out of shape. A distorted prong will not hold correctly.
  • Check clips before use and retire any with a loose pivot, a bent prong or a chipped or worn finish.

Storage

Dry the clips fully before putting them away — trapped moisture at the pivot is what shortens the life of any metal clip. Store in a clip pot, tray or drawer away from damp, and keep them closed rather than propped open so the spring holds its tension.
