A moulded thumb rest on the spine — the comb sits in one defined position and stays there.

The distinguishing feature here is the scooped thumb rest moulded into the middle of the spine. It gives your thumb a defined place to sit, so the comb doesn't creep or rotate in the hand through a long cut, and you can turn it end-to-end without regripping. Either side of it, the comb does the usual two jobs: closely spaced fine teeth for taking clean sections and combing hair flat for the cut, and longer, more widely spaced teeth for moving through wet or thick hair and distributing product. The spine runs straight with a small turned lip at each end, and the matte finish keeps its grip when your hands are wet. Model 117, in blue.

How to Use

1. Rest your thumb in the moulded recess on the spine — that's the comb's balance point and the position it's designed to be held in.
2. Use the wider-toothed end to work through wet or tangled hair, starting at the ends and moving upward, and to distribute product through the lengths.
3. Turn the comb to the fine-tooth end to take clean sections and comb the hair flat for cutting.
4. Rinse and wipe down after use.

Cautions

Check the comb before each use and discard it if any tooth is cracked, bent or has a rough edge — a damaged tooth will snag and can scratch the scalp. Work through tangles gently from the ends rather than pulling from the roots. Keep away from direct heat, hot irons and open flame. Do not use as a heat-resistant comb unless the manufacturer confirms it is rated for that. Keep out of reach of children.

Storage

Wash and dry after use, and store flat or hanging in a dry place away from heat and direct sunlight.
