The Beret is Wahl Professional's precision trimmer — slim, light and quiet, designed to sit comfortably in the hand for the fine work at the end of a cut. The 32.5mm chrome-plated blade cuts very close to the skin, which is what makes it a genuine outlining tool rather than a general tidy-up trimmer.

It runs cord or cordless. The lithium-ion battery gives up to 75 minutes off the charge, and if it does run flat mid-client you can plug the transformer straight into the unit and keep going. The blade detaches quickly for cleaning, and the charging stand keeps it topped up and off the counter between clients.

How to Use

Charging

Charge fully before first use — the first charge takes 2 hours, and around 1 hour to recharge after that. Make sure the trimmer is switched OFF while charging. Connect the transformer either directly to the trimmer or to the charging stand, then seat the trimmer in the stand until contact is made. The charging indicator illuminates while charging and blinks when the battery is almost full.

Cordless use

Switch on, use, and switch off after use. A full charge gives up to 75 minutes.

Corded use

Connect the transformer directly to the trimmer socket and switch on. If the battery has run completely flat, let it charge for 1 minute with the trimmer switched off before running it corded.

Changing the blade set

Switch off. Slide the blade set away from the housing in the direction of the arrow. To refit, locate the hook in the opening of the housing and press until it clicks into position.

Cleaning and oiling

After each use, brush loose hair from the housing and blade set. Oil frequently — one drop in the centre of the moving top blade and one drop at each end of the top blade, a three-point oiling system. Turn the trimmer on and run briefly to distribute the oil, then wipe away any excess. Wipe the housing with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Use only Wahl blade oil. Other lubricants can damage the blades and the trimmer, and will void the warranty.

• Do not use while bathing or in a shower, and do not place or store where it could fall into a tub or sink
• Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water — unplug it immediately
• Except when charging, unplug immediately after use and before cleaning
• Do not use if the power supply cord or plug is damaged, if the appliance is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged — return it to Wahl or a qualified service agent
• Use only with the power supply unit provided
• Cutting blades may become hot after prolonged use
• Do not use with a damaged or broken blade or attachment — this can cause facial injury
• Reduce pressure when cutting close to the skin; too much pressure, a damaged blade set or a misaligned blade set can cause skin injury
• Do not use outdoors, or while aerosol sprays are being used
• Never use solvents, scouring agents, bleach or benzene on the appliance
• Do not crush, disassemble, heat above 100°C, or incinerate — risk of fire, explosion or burns
• Do not attempt to remove the lithium-ion battery. Batteries can explode, catch fire or cause burns if disassembled, damaged, or exposed to water or high temperatures. Battery replacement must be carried out by Wahl or a qualified professional
• For use on human hair, beard hair and eyebrows only — use dedicated animal clippers for animal hair
• Do not carry the appliance by the mains cable, or pull on the cable to disconnect it
• Do not wind the cable around the appliance for storage — this strains the cord and can cause electrical faults
• Keep the cable away from hot surfaces, and do not twist or kink it
• Always switch off before storage, as vibration can make the appliance fall
• Do not dispose of the appliance or its lithium battery in household waste

Storage

Store dry, in the charging stand or a drawer, with the blade guard fitted. Coil the cord loosely rather than winding it around the trimmer. Keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight.
